The Mashers were/are nothing but a bad scene.. a disgrace to the decent, ME-fearing, emotionally/sexually/mentally repressed human race. That's why I had to DESTROY THEM before THEY destroyed the entire scene here on this mistake of mine called Venus -no...ummmm..

THE MASHERS were started in 1994 by Matt V. on Drums(aka:M.T. Idiot, Torgo, Matt Masher,Larry Christ jr.etc.)then later, went to vocals, and Paul D.on vocal and guitar, then later, exclusively on guitar(aka:Hugh G. Rection, Sven Seconds, Paul Masher, etc..) and Chris M. on Bass & backing vocals(aka: Johann Sebastian Rock, Rex Pistol, Chris Masher,etc..).
From the beginning, THE MASHERS mission was to; OFFEND, cause chaos, outsider rocknroll noise, disrruption, and bring back the reckless FUN missing from the hyper-PC, hyper-hipster ska/pop punk, watered-down-bland rock of the mid-90's Chicago/Elgin, IL."Punk Underground"..
THE MASHERS recorded many ultra-lo-fi "casstte tapes" in the spirit of the legendary MUMMIES, Makers, Lord High Fixers, Supercharger, 50's, 60's, 70's trash rocknroll/heavy metal/punk/noise. They recorded 2 CD's, "GIMME THE POISON"(1999) that later would be released by SACK OF SHIT records as the LP, "BABY, I'M YOUR MAN!"
and included 6 extra tracks.
"THE MASHERS DESTROY YOUR SCENE"(2003) was their 2nd and final CD release.
By then, they had evolved into a 5 pc. rocknroll monster, terrorizing the Chicago-scenesters and loved by the real rocknrollers. Igor Of Edison Park was a track done for a compilation on Chicago's ROCKTOBER records in 2003).
THey broke up in 2004, Matt & Paul went on to start THE PLASTIK EXPLOSIVES (2004-2007) then the experimental psycho-delic-punk rock nightmare THE END IS NOW.
Chris & Jeff Z.: drums(aka: Whiteout)went on to start the punk rocknroll juggernaut, THE REPULSATORS.
Mike M.(aka: Masher) is recently married and living in Elgin.
